Like all products, time-share is subject to the law of supply and demand.


It should be a fair system but often complexities in the system are made more difficult by the proprietary formulas of many exchange companies. To add to that, selling time share could be very difficult because the supply of time share resale is far greater than its demand.


Most people buy time shares without the full understanding on what they are getting into. Most responded to a cordial invitation for a presentation, while other are attracted in the idea of real state investments and memberships.


Expect the presentation to be very good and persuasive. It has to be. If you are trying to sell your time share, you obviously can not spend so much on representation as the resort owner who sold you the unit did. He is spreading his expenses over maybe thousands of unit while you have only one unit to sell. Chances are, you are also selling your time share to someone who knows about resale, is educated in time shares and may probably be shopping among many time share resellers. If you will have to sell your time share, you must know about competitive pricing and yours has to be the best offer.


Advertising

The Internet has, in a very short period of time became a virtual shopping center. Place your ads to as many as possible free newsgroup section. You will have to pay a fee but that will give you good exposure. Remember that advertising is having you and your product recalled by your targeted customer and market. The better exposure you have, the more chances of immediate resale will be possible.


If you can place ads in your resort, that would be another good idea to follow. Interested guests in your resort will already be a ready market for you. Post your advertisement in very high visibility location and make them as many as would be allowed. Maximum exposure gets you maximum chances at selling your time-share.
