Insomnia Risk Factors

Insomnia Risk Factors

Insomnia is really quite common in America and a good portion of people have to deal with it at one time or another. However, most people attempt to deal with insomnia on their own and never consult a physician about it. As a matter of fact, during routine physicals and doctor visits, most doctors never even ask about a patients sleep pattern at all. Because there is some very effective sleep medication available by prescription that can be used for up to six months without any addictive properties, insomnia no longer has to be a treacherous path to walk down.

There are certain risk factors that put a person at higher risk for insomnia that might and should be addresses. Some insomnia risk factors include aging or the elderly, conflict in one’s life, being overworked, illness in the family, ranking low in social status, or a psychiatric or psychological problem. Of course those who will be at a greater risk of developing insomnia would typically be a female over the age of 60, with a history of stress, anxiety, or depression, maybe a combination of all, and one who may have an underlying medical condition. It has been a myth that as people get older, they require less sleep. That myth has never been validated and remains untrue today. Keep in mind that these risk factors do not mean that a person will develop insomnia but that they may be at a greater risk.

Negative thinking is also associated with insomnia or when something is really weighing heavily on ones mind. This can have a negative impact and because the mind is preoccupied with these thoughts, it can trigger a bout of insomnia. Sometimes people have an onset of insomnia that is very temporary while in others, it could linger for months.

Depression is the number one factor associated with depression and almost all people who have been diagnosed with this condition have insomnia. Therefore, it is likely that if the depression can be dealt with, the insomnia may subside as well.

A lack of proper sleep can also weaken ones immune system which can cause them to be susceptible to all kinds of illness including colds, viruses, and the flu. Studies have shown that insomnia is much higher in women than it is in men.

It is believed that the cause for this is that with women there are usually some time of hormonal fluctuation that could be the cause such as premenstrual syndrome, menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. Further, anxiety is much more prevalent in women than it is in men, therefore which could be another reason that insomnia is higher in women than it is in men.

There has also been a relationship between childhood sleep patterns and adult insomnia. Childhood sleep disorders would include nightmares, sleep walking, difficulty falling asleep, or restless leg syndrome. Children who experience these disorders do have a higher risk of developing insomnia later into adulthood. Another factor that can produce a great risk is ADHD in a child that spills over into adulthood.

Insomnia During Pregnancy

Insomnia During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a time when women are supposed to relax and rest in preparation for the arrival of their new baby. However, for many women it is a time of repeated episodes of insomnia. This insomnia could be intermittent or chronic but this is a time when there is a lot of anxiety for the woman along with physical complications as well such as frequent urination, difficulty getting comfortable, stress, and leg cramps. Plus this is a time when there is so much going on, nursery deadlines, baby showers, selecting the precise baby name, worries about delivery, and worries about the baby’s health.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be given in the form of medication during this time but meditation and yoga are excellent ways to combat pregnancy related insomnia. A nice warm shower before bed can be relaxing and really that is what it is all about, relaxing. Many pregnant women are so worried about having so much to do and are afraid that they will never get it all done in enough time. Some women claim that it helped them a lot to make a to-do-list as it eased their mind. If getting comfortable is a problem then there are a lot of new products on the market to make sleep for the pregnant woman much easier. There is a new body pillow designed especially for pregnant women that supports the uterus and also allows for cushion in between the legs.

If frequent urination is the problem then doctors advise that limiting fluid intake after dinner can help to ease that problem. Other factors can be dealt with on an individual basis such as if you have a profound sensitivity to outside sounds; this is common with pregnant woman because all of their senses are vulnerable during this time, especially smell. You could try ear plugs or even running a fan in your room to drown out unwelcome sounds.

Eat a snack and a warm decaffeinated beverage before bed. Try and stick with something higher in carbs so it sticks with you through the night and you will not wake up hungry as some pregnant women do. Just relax and enjoy yourself! Remember if this was so impossible and unpleasant why would so many women keep doing it?

Often the insomnia does not appear until mid way through the second trimester or in the third trimester itself when the pregnant body becomes more awkward and difficult to maneuver. Plus at this point the baby inside is bigger and lays lower in the uterus causing increased pressure on the bladder which results in having to urinate very frequently. Many pregnant women have claimed to get up in the middle of the night to urinate and by the time they do and get back in bed, they have to go again.

Considering this and the fact that rapid thoughts blaze through their minds about each and every little detail, especially in first time pregnancies, it is no wonder that pregnant women suffer from insomnia.

Infrared Technology and Termite Inspection

Infrared Technology and Termite Inspection

One of the most exciting innovations in the pest control industry is the use of infrared technology and termite inspection. Infrared technology is used to detect heat in small spaces and is perfect for use in the termite inspection because it can detect colonies that are massed together and make it easier for the pest control operator to pinpoint the location of the infestation and effectively get rid of the problem in one fell swoop.

Finding termites can be difficult, yet knowing where they are located is important when deciding on the correct eradication program. The traditional method is to simply tap on the wood with the back of a screwdriver, or to poke holes in walls or even pull them apart. Infrared technology and termite inspect now offers a new, high technological detection system that is quick, effective and does not require any damage to houses.

Infrared technology and termite inspection is being used with an increased frequency because it can easily detect the presence of termites by simply inserting a small camera at the end of a thin rod and then manipulating the camera around to find the termite swarms. Because termites mass together to work on the wood, where there is one, there is always more. That’s why infrared technology and termite inspection go hand in hand.

Thermal imaging technology detects heat patterns. When termites invade buildings, the normal heat patterns of the walls, floors and roof are changed due to the presence of termites. The thermal camera records this change in heat patterns and indicates the exact location of any termite infestation. A color image shows hot spots as red or yellow and cold spots as blue or purple and these heat patterns indicate termite infestations. That means that infrared technology and termite inspection can be much more effective than the normal ways of doing a termite inspection.

However, termites are considered cold blooded insects, so how can they generate heat? Termites are hosts to bacteria, which live in their gut, and these bacteria help break down and digest cellulose, the main component of wood. It is this digestion and chemical reaction that generates the heat. That’s why infrared technology and termite inspection makes the location of termites much easier thus allowing the pest control company to target the specific areas where termites are located and make the treatment effective. The pest control company that pairs infrared technology and termite inspection together is one that is highly effective and employing the latest tools in pest control so that they can do a great job for you – the consumer.

Information on Traction Alopecia

Information on Traction Alopecia

Traction alopecia is caused by chronic traction (pulling) on the hair follicle. Traction alopecia mostly occurs in African-American women and men who braid their hair too tightly. It is also common in other ethnic groups known for traditional hair styles that involve pulling the hair.

There is also seen a pronounced traction alopecia in the beard area of this Sikh man. The Sikh men do not cut scalp or beard hair. The beard hairs are pulled straight and then twisted and tightly knotted. Daily knotting often results in this form of traction alopecia.

Men who attach hairpieces to their existing hair also suffer from this type of hair loss. The traction alopecia in such cases can also lead to permanent hair loss if the hairpiece is attached in the same location over a long period of time.

If we put the examples from ethnic groups aside, traction alopecia occurs most often in pre-teenagers, teenagers, young adults then it does in older men and women.

It is a very unfortunate state that hair styles and fashions and hair styling methods are causing baldness and hair loss among today’s younger generations. The hair loss in all such cases is mostly due to Traction alopecia. The hair loss is caused by long term hair pulling and breakage due to very tight hair braiding, hair weaves and cornrows.

The over use of hair style aids such as sponge hair rollers or curling irons may also promote traction alopecia. Traction alopecia often shows as distinct patches of hair loss in those areas where the hair and hair follicles have been put under excessive strain. The hair loss may occur anywhere on the scalp depending on the nature of the hair style or process that is causing the traction alopecia. Prolonged traction alopecia can lead to cicatrization of the new hair follicle and permanent hair loss.

Traction alopecia is reversible if diagnosed in the early stages. Permanent hair loss can occur too slowly for immediate detection. Hair loss is often occurs in the front, and hair line but is also subject to the immediate adjacent area to where the hair is being pulled and damaged.

An effective treatment is to simply avoid hair styling that puts excessive strain on the hair. Even with removal of the cause of traction alopecia it may take up to three months for the hair to recover. Areas of scalp subjected to chronic traction alopecia may never fully recover.

Traction alopecia is generally a non-scarring, non-inflammatory form of hair loss although long term use of hair styles involving traction over 3 or more years may result in a mild immune cell infiltrate and irreversible scarring damage to some hair follicles. Any form of chronic traction alopecia will eventually lead to fibrosis around hair follicles and total destruction of some hair follicles. Once destroyed the hair follicles will not re-grow under any circumstances hence chronic traction alopecia can be described as a scarring cicatricial alopecia.

Permanent traction alopecia does not respond to medical treatment such as minoxidil or finasteride due to non-genetic nature of hair loss. The only way one can treat traction alopecia is with hair transplants. Follicular unit hair grafting has been identified as the only practical solution to treating traction alopecia. Number of patients with traction alopecia coming to hair transplant clinics is generally increasing and the treatment is providing them a good response.

Infertility is suffering enough. Why burden yourself with additional problems that will cause you only to suffer more?

One good step in decreasing the probability of multiplying your troubles is by selecting an efficient clinic. Know them by the attributes of their services and completeness of their working staff. The working people may not actually be present during your clinical visit but the clinic must atleast make an assurance that once personages such as these that will be discussed here are available in case you may need them.

Here are the following people you must look for from an infertility clinic:

Reproductive Surgeon or Reproductive Endocrinologist

This is the person who conducts the follicular recruitment phases in all assisted reproduction technologies. Thus, he stands important in dealing with infertility. And because this personage specializes in many areas related to infertility such as endometriosis, reproductive organ disorders and uterine abnormalities he is vital during surgical repairs and surgery-associated techniques.

Reproductive Immunologist

For infertile patients who have immunological barriers as the primary cause of their infertility, it is essential that a reproductive immunologist is always at hand so as to provide extensive analysis and diagnosis of the condition. Though many areas of conditions that cover immunological barriers are not readily facilitated in standard laboratories, the infertility clinic for which you have subscribed must have a strong affiliation to services that offer treatments with this condition.

Embryologist

The infertility clinic must atleast have one embryologist specializing in fields like pre-implantation embryology, fertilization events (pre- and post), and andrology. An embryologist must be a doctor of medicine or must have a doctorate on physical, chemical or biological science.

Reproductive Urologist

While it is not necessary that an urologist is regularly present in an infertility clinic, the facility must still provide a strong assurance that one will respond in case the patients need him. An urologist is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility covering male factors.

Andrologist

Andorlogists are more like laboratory specialists rather than people detailing the anatomical background of infertility. They focus on the physiology relating to infertility, treatment cycle for which assisted reproductive technologies are largely based, and biochemistry. They are responsible in developing and handling procedures in aid of fertilization in larger infertility laboratories where they work closely with other specialists in inducing assisted fertilization.

Geneticist

Infant Potty Training

Infant Potty Training

Infant potty training is a very appealing alternative to late potty training. This term means that you can start potty training your child in the first six months of hi or her life. Some studies have proved that the baby is ready to learn new things from the very birth moment. As long as there is no pressure on the baby but there is a lot of perseverance and motherly warmth, infant potty training can be quite successful.

The same studies have shown that in the first six months the baby is very receptive to whatever surrounds him, noises, images and so on. Therefore it will be quite easy for the mother to help her child associate sounds and places in the home, like the bathroom with the time or the moment of potty going.

However infant potty training requires a lot of patience and attention on the mother’s part. The mother has to study the child and figure out the moments when the infant needs to go. Body language is the key to everything related to this. She has to study the child and find out what body language or what cues the infant uses right before he or she is ready to eliminate.

Some babies may become suddenly quiet and show marks of concentration, others may stare somewhere in the distance, others may change their face to make grimaces, others turn their little bodies stiff and their legs may become tense, others simply twist and turn. It is widely believed that all mothers actually can identify when their babies are ready to go, it’s just that they haven’t thought of infant potty training at such an early stage.

After figuring out the timing and the cues that the baby gives involuntarily to the mother, it is time to begin infant potty training. First the mother has to be close to the baby when it is ready to go and start making a hissing sound or use the word pee. She should repeat this every time the child seems ready to eliminate so that the child will associate his mother’s sounds with peeing. The nest phase is to again anticipate, make the hissing sound and then take the child to the toilet and hold him there above the toilet to pee.

He or she will soon come to associate the mother’s sounds with the rooms and the peeing. This is what infant potty training consists in. It has been proved that children who begin infant potty training will definitely have no more accidents after two years old and they will be fully independent when it comes to using the potty or the toilet.

Inexpensive But Not Cheap

Inexpensive But Not Cheap

The Massachusetts school of law has the claim to being the most inexpensive of all law schools in New England. This means that the Massachusetts School of Law can provide education for those people whose economic status prevents them from attending other law schools. This means providing a lot of people the opportunity to make their lives better by learning the practice of law.

The Massachusetts School of Law instructs its students through the following methods:

1) Classroom instruction – Probably the oldest of techniques, the Massachusetts School of Law utilizes this method of instruction to instill the basics and the theories of practicing law to the students. This helps the students get an idea of what the practice of law is supposed to be. This equips them with what they have to use in the profession.

2) Simulated client experiences – This helps the student bridge the gap between the classroom and the field. Through simulated client experiences, the students of the Massachusetts school of law begin to understand how the basic theories and concepts are applied in the practice of law. They learn what is right and what is wrong in an environment where a mistake will not mean the loss of a client.

3) Live client experiences – Sooner or later, law students have to get actual hands-on experience. In the Massachusetts School of Law, students are given the opportunity to participate in legal clinics where they can apply the knowledge and the skills that they have obtained to real life situations. They give free legal advice to people and receive experience in return. This prepares them for the inevitability of facing reality.

The Massachusetts School of Law is committed to equipping people with socially disadvantaged backgrounds with the skills that they need to enter the world known to those people with law degrees. This commitment can be seen in the way that the Massachusetts school of law has continually battled any injustice or bias in the world of law. They have continually disputed with the American Bar Association regarding the standards that the ABA sets which seem to be biased against minorities and low-income students.

The Massachusetts School of Law is certainly a law school for the people. Some people who equate price with quality may think that the Massachusetts School of Law offers low quality education. However, this is not true. There is a huge difference between being inexpensive and being cheap. The Massachusetts school of law makes high quality education affordable to everyone.

One thing that makes the Massachusetts School of Law unique is the fact that it does not place value in the traditional Law School Admission Test which is usually a requirement for admission to other law schools. In fact, the Massachusetts School of Law administers its own essay test and requires that each applicant be interviewed. They judge an applicant based on these tests and the following qualities:

1) Life experiences – A person’s past experiences do reflect a huge part of his current and future actions. The Massachusetts School of Law attempts to get a glimpse of the person by learning about motivations. What made a person do things in the past may drive him to do other things in the future.

2) Academic Performance – A person’s scholastic records are reviewed to see what sort of student he could potentially become. As with other law schools, the Massachusetts School of Law wants to produce the best crop of lawyers. Because of this, they need the best young minds.

Industrial Diesel Engines

Industrial Diesel Engines

Industrial diesel engines are any engines that are used

for industrial purposes that run on diesel. Industrial

diesel engines are used to power a major portion of

industrial machinery, from motorbikes to bulldozers,

generators, and even forklifts and trucks. They range

in size from a few pounds to a few tons, with a various

amount of power.

The use of diesel engines is mandated by several large

organizations. All NATO machinery for example, runs on

either diesel or aviation grade kerosene. At the

current level of technology, fossil fuels, and especially

diesel are the most economical and convenient means

of supplying power to a variety of equipment and

even backup generators.

All industrial diesel engines can be either air cooled

or water cooled. The smallest engines for residential

purposes will typically provide about 10kW and cost

a few thousand USD. These smaller scale engines power

much of the mobile machinery we see around us on a

daily basis, such as trucks, farm equipment, small

boats, stationary process machinery, earth movers,

and so on.

The medium scale industrial diesel engines can provide

levels between a few hundred kW and a few thousand

kW and are sold for prices in usually the thousands

of dollars. These types are used in larger machinery

such as larger mining equipment, oil rigs, trains,

large boats, military equipment, and much more.

The largest of industrial diesel engines provide 10,000

to 80,000 kW, sold in the millions of dollars, and

are used for ultra heavy equipment, electric power

generation, and the largest of ships. Large industrial

engines can be up to 49 feet side and run on low

grade diesels. In places such as China, where there

is a high demand for de-centralized power sources,

these types of engines are often utilized.

Industral engines are classified in terms of their

speed, or RPM (Rotations Per Minute). High RPM

engines are normally used for the lighter, more common

applications, such as trucks and other types of land

equipment.

Medium RPM engines are generally used for power

generation. Low RPM ranges, and high torque engines

are used for the biggest type of equipment, such as

marine equipment and applications.

For the most part, industrial diesel engines can

vary in terms of size and performance. Chances are,

you’ve either seen or used industrial equipment at

some point in time. Although they cost a lot of

money, they are the way to go with bigger equipment

for getting the job done right the first time.

Indoor Swimming Pools

Indoor Swimming Pools

When most of us think of summer and hot days, the first thing that comes to mind is a swimming pool. A swimming pool provides relief from hot summer days, and gives us a chance to simply relax, enjoy ourselves, and take in some exercise. Although they are mostly common with hot summer days, swimming pools are also great indoors as well, providing year round swimming.

Indoor swimming pools have become very popular over the years, especially in gyms and other facilities such as the YMCA. At a gym or YMCA, indoor swimming pools are a great way to cool down after weight lifting or a great way to get in some cardio exercise. Unlike outdoor swimming pools, you can use an indoor pool year round – without having to worry about the weather.

If you don’t like to join gyms or if you find the locations of indoor swimming pools to be crowded, you may be interested in having an indoor pool at home. This is very possible these days, due to indoor pools being more affordable than ever. The first thing you’ll need to do before you can get one though, is make room for it. If you don’t have the space to store a pool inside, you may need to add a room onto your home to put the pool in.

If you have the money to spare, an in ground indoor swimming pool will provide you with plenty of room to swim laps and have a lot of friends over with plenty of room to spare. This may cost a lot of money though, which rules it out for many of us. You’ll also need a big room for this type of pool as well, as it can cover a lot of space.

If you don’t have a lot of money to spare, you can use an above ground pool instead. You’ll still need to room to store it, or you can again add on to your home. Adding on to your home will help to raise the overall value of your property, which will be a major plus later on down the road if you decide to sell your home. Indoor swimming pools hold a lot of value, especially if you have it constructed yourself.

When you have your swimming pool set up indoors, you’ll need to have a professional do everything. Although you may think you can do everything yourself, it will prove to be a bit more complicated than you may think. Professionals know exactly what they are doing, and won’t have any problems at all. They will also do all of the work for you, and contact the necessary officials to make sure that your indoor pool conforms with state and local laws.

In more ways than one, an indoor swimming pool can provide you with a lot of fun and excitement year round. Indoor pools have a lot of benefits, also providing to be great for those who have back trouble or other medical ailments. Even though the pool is indoors, you can also invest in a heater for your swimming pool and keep the water a certain temperature whenever you decide to jump in and take a swim.

You can find everything you need for an indoor swimming pool online or through your local swimming pool supply store. If you need to add on to your home first, you may want to contact a carpenter first. Once you have everything you need and you get your indoor pool finished, you’ll be amazed with the results. You’ll be able to go swimming anytime you like, day or night – in the privacy of your own home.

Inadequate Trainers and Time Management Training Programs

Inadequate Trainers and Time Management Training Programs

Time management training encompasses a very wide spectrum of training areas. Depending on preferences it can be tapered to address particular time management disciplines. Time management training must focus on practical issues and actual experiences particular to the trainees because theories and advises made will not be easily implemented if it deviates from that.

While time management training is popular anywhere in the world and trainees sincerely wants to adopt its principles, many training programs can fail when advises talks of generalities and less on the actual realities of the worker. Another common approach that can fail is to ask the trainees what they expect to address and resolve at the start of the time management training program and resolve this at the end with approaches that are still generic.

Time management programs are now popularly available. The demand for this course has increased overtime. More or less, people have ideas on what the program talks about and many have in one way or the other practiced it in differing degrees of success. Bars have already been raised. It is therefore no longer practical to choose a time management training outfit based alone on the impressive agendas that they provide and the number of training that they have conducted.

Worse, it is no longer effective to send the company’s training manager to one of these programs and cascade what he learned to the employees. Doing that is like handing out documents that have been carbon copied several times over. The conviction will be lacking, the integrity is nil and the message lost.

It is critical then that trainers and speakers are chosen based not only on their agenda but also on their ability to discuss with emphatic understanding to particular working conditions. Failing that will often result to having a speaker who will coach the trainees on many ideas that the workers have heard already and end on advice that will be hard and unrealistic to apply.

When choosing a trainer that will conduct the time management training program, it will be very helpful if they have had experiences in working the trenches because trainees can identify these and can have a better relationship with the trainer. If not, the trainers’ integrity is questionable to the average worker and may result to ineffective time management training programs.

It is also imperative that the trainer conducts follow though and one on one coaching based on what has been resolved during the program and be able to monitor accurately the trainees’ progress. Your success can often depend on that.

Idiopathic Insomnia

Idiopathic Insomnia

Not much could be worse than a lifetime of bogus sleep, imagine difficulty falling asleep, only being able to sleep for a very short period of time, waking several times during the short time that you do sleep, it happens each and every night, and to make matters even worse, there is no medical, psychological, or neurological diagnosis that can explain this. Doctors have told you that you have an imbalance in your body that has created an overactive awakening system. Because of this you have a very hard time concentrating, moodiness, and daytime fatigue, constantly.

This type of insomnia can be especially dangerous because it can lead to many other problems such as substance abuse as you try to correct the problem yourself. Understandably, you might feel like you are at your wits end. While insomnia is actually quite common, idiopathic insomnia on the other hand, is not. There is no correlation favoring genders with this disorder and there is also no genetic link involved.

You might suspect that you have idiopathic insomnia if you have been dealing with insomnia problems your entire life and there is no reason for the insomnia. This would mean that you are not stressed out about anything on a conscious or subconscious level; you are on no medications as some can cause insomnia, there are no medical or psychological reasons for the insomnia, and you have no poor sleeping behaviors.

In other words, you are completely fine except for the insomnia. There have been reports of people who are so desperate to get some quality sleep. Some have indicated that during a one year period they averaged three hours of sleep per night but there were many occasions where they only got one hour of sleep for at least one week at a time. Keep in mind that these people have already attempted, with the help of a physician, in some cases over 20 different sleeping pills with absolutely no relief. Many become suicidal during this time which is mainly because of their desperation and when one is attempting to function on such a small amount of sleep, they surely are not thinking clearly at all.

Many people just learn how to cope with this disorder and never seek help. The truth is that there is not much that can be done besides making attempts through sleep hygiene to reduce the insomnia as much as possible. Sometimes a doctor will prescribe medication to help you sleep but at best, the newest and most modern sleep aids on the market today only allow a patient to use them for up to six months.

Anything else might lead to a substance abuse problem and no one wants that so at this point the doctor might refer you to a sleep specialist who will attempt to assist with your idiopathic insomnia.

Obviously a center that specializes in sleep depravation and sleep disorders will be able to do more than anyone else will but unfortunately with severe cases of idiopathic insomnia it is the mechanisms inside of your body that are different and do not require this sleep.

Identity Theft: Stop It Now!

Identity Theft: Stop It Now!

You may be a victim of identity theft and not even know it. Thieves may have secured important information about you and are using it without you knowing what they are doing. By the time you discover their nasty deeds, much damage may have already been done. While you may not be held responsible for their antics, the aggravation and recurring pain you will go through in restoring your good name can be intense. Let’s take a look at some ways you can stop identity theft now.

Protect your social security number. There are very few people in life who really need to know your social security number. Besides government entities and certain creditors, no one should be asking you for that information. If they do, politely refuse or instruct them to mail their request to you in writing.

Block telemarketers. Make certain that your phone number is registered on “do not call” registries to keep telemarketers at bay. You control your phone; get caller i.d. to avoid those who slip through the loopholes in the law.

Chop it up. Important documents you no longer need should not be tossed in the trash without going through a shredder first. Purchase a unit that shreds your paper into small diamonds to ensure that no thief will piece back together important information and make you an easy victim of identity theft.

Examine your monthly statements. With consumers charging just about anything including their gas, food, store, and online purchases, it can be easy to skim through monthly credit card statements without paying attention to every line. Crafty thieves are hoping that you will do just that! Examine each line and respond to anything that doesn’t look legitimate. If you have a dispute, follow the instructions from your credit card supplier on how to contest something that is not right. Usually, in order to maintain your rights, you have to register your dispute in writing.

Guard your mail. Having a mailbox on the street is an easy way for thieves to drive up, take your mail, and cruise away. In some neighborhoods, it is simply better to use a secured post office box than to risk thieves riding off with your mail. If you suspect that someone has stolen your mail, notify your local postmaster. The United States Postal Service has a crack team of investigators who are heavily involved in battling identity theft through mail fraud.

Shield your computer. By running the most current internet security programs, regularly updating your various passwords, and only buying goods through a secure site [which are those with an “s” in their web address: https], you can limit the opportunities for thieves to steal your information.

Order your free credit reports. The 3 major credit reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union – are now required to allow consumers to receive one free copy of their personal credit report.

If you know that you are a victim of identity theft, notify your local police department and file a report with them. In addition, contact all 3 credit reporting agencies and ask that a “fraud alert” be placed in your credit file.

You must take aggressive action to counter this widespread problem and to ensure that your good name and credit record are properly restored. Fight back: you can win the identity theft battle!

I Choose My Shoes

I Choose My Shoes

Among the huge number of products that are for sale online, designer shoes are one of the most popular. In a recent survey by ACNielsen, they found out that consumers around the world consider their shoes as their number one designer accessory.

One reason for this fashion trend can be attributed to the various movies and television shows that showcased stories revolving around designer shoes. More and more consumers are looking at designer shoes as a symbol of their wealth and success or as a way to publicly yet discreetly announce their newly acquired social status.

According to the said survey, around 49% of online consumers prefer designer shoes over any other fashion accessory that they have. One interpretation of the survey is that despite the costs of designer shoes, relatively they are still the most affordable items in the world of designer apparel, sunglasses comes in second, followed by wallets, handbags and belts.

Buying online has its advantages. It is really very convenient to shop in the comfort of your sofa at home. The internet has removed the stress from shopping. By a click of a mouse, you can make your purchase and all you need to do is to wait for your order to be delivered right at your doorstep. If you want to cut waiting time by half, a lot of online stores today usually offer an exclusive 24-hour delivery option where you can get your order the next day just by adding a few extra dollars to the total purchase cost.

Moreover, products online are relatively cheaper than those in shops, malls or boutiques. Besides, when shopping online, you have almost an endless line of shops or stores to choose from as well as pages and pages of product catalogues to look at. Plus, you’ll always be at the forefront of the fashion craze since online stores update their catalogues regularly and maintain up to date selections of product lines.

By simply logging on to the internet you can easily find designer clothes and shoes. A word of caution, however, there are a lot of fake designer apparel out there. Websites sometimes masquerade as a seller of authentic designer items but actually distribute knock-offs and mere imitations.

You can rely on referrals from friends and from other websites or better yet you can do your own research to find out which websites sell genuine designer products.

I Hate Writing Articles - Isn't There An Easier Way?!

I Hate Writing Articles – Isn’t There An Easier Way?!

Owning, running and maintaining an internet based business or a site needs articles. Plain and simple, every who has a site knows this. Even those who don’t have sites but are frequent internet users knows this as well. Articles quench the thirst for information and knowledge of the people. Plus, the articles provides many other benefits for the site.

The benefits that articles provide are putting a site high in the ranking in search results of keywords and keyword phrases that pertains or are relevant to his or her site. They also provide attraction to website visitors when they are appreciated and is linked to your site from another site or newsletter. Articles provide for the increase of the confidence and trust levels of customers to your site and company.

Many articles are also beneficial to both company and its traffic. When the readers like the articles, they would tell more of their friends, family and peers and recommend your site to them, providing for a larger volume of traffic. You get bigger sales if your traffic trusts and believes in you. Your product or services would be much easier to sell when they know you know what you are doing and talking about.

So ok, we have established that articles are very important to a site and to business. Articles are crucial and to keep ahead in the game, a site must have an article, it is imperative. There is one dilemma though, not many people like writing articles.

Many website owners would rather spend their time on something else, and unless you’re a big time company, you don’t have the necessary resources to use on a pool of article writers. Plagiarism or copying of other articles is frowned upon and could easily get you into trouble, worst case scenario; a hefty fine and jail time.

So what are the other options?

Well, for starters if you hate writing articles and you can’t afford to hire people to write for you then don’t. Get free articles. The first place to look at for free articles is the public domain. Here you won’t have problems with copyright infringement and the following penalties and fines if you get caught for plagiarism.

Public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use. You can do whatever you want with it. You can place it on your site, name it as yours, put it in a newsletter its you decision. Always remember though that you will have to choose articles that is very relevant to your site.

The downside to public domain articles is that since it is free for everybody, many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even though you have the same niche, this could be a predicament. You may also have to edit them a bit to place more keywords and keyword phrases to make them better.

Another way to get free articles is to allow other sites which has the same subject or topic as yours to submit articles to your site. This would be only to augment your existing content or else all your articles would be leading to other sites since these articles would have resource boxes with them that could link or direct the readers to their site. That’s why it is important to have your own articles; you cold use them to link your site to other sites as well.

But, to truly feel the impact of what a good article to you, go for original ones. There are many article writers who do part time and freelance article writing jobs that charges only minimal fees. You can get good articles that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need and people are looking for.

The investment you made for these articles would be worthwhile because you could use them for all the benefits you could offer. You hold copyrights to them and you will be able to use them anyway you want. As your articles help you in building your business and your site, you will have more articles to write and maybe then you wont be having second thoughts about articles.

Hypnosis for Insomnia

Hypnosis for Insomnia

Beta brainwaves! Alpha brainwaves! What is all the fuss? Sufferers of insomnia have problems getting their Beta brainwaves into an Alpha state. So when the conscious mind is experiencing anger, conflict, fears, emotional upset, anxiety, and worry, the brain has a hard time processing. This can take over their minds which can not be shut off creating the inability to sleep. To make things even worse, these people begin to worry as soon as their day begins about being able to sleep later on that night and the more that they worry, the more difficult it becomes for them to sleep, and it is almost an obsession. Worrying about insomnia actually creates insomnia.

This is a behavior that can be changed but not alone. Your brain has to be taught to allow it to slip into an Alpha brain state and how to eliminate the triggers that stop it from allowing you to go into a deep sleep. Hypnosis is a very effective way for people to learn this retrained way of thought. It is a completely safe and effective option for those who do not wish to take pills.

Hypnosis changes the way that the subconscious mind works. There are hypnosis audio tapes that are available for people who suffer from insomnia to listen to while they are trying to sleep and while they are asleep. This taps into their inner subconscious and has a way of correcting the ill thoughts so that sound sleep can once again be restored.

Hypnosis usually begins with breathing techniques that are specifically designed to ensure that you are breathing correctly, then moves on to releasing the tension that your body is storing, hence making sleep impossible, and then suggestively taps into your subconscious while sort of pushing your conscious mind off to the side for a bit. Here is where it lays the foundation for future thinking and erasing whatever is causing you to associate negative thoughts with sleep.

Hypnosis works great in conjunction with learned relaxation. First you learn to relax your mind and then you learn how to relax your body. Hypnosis changes the way that your mind thinks. Imagine that someone tells you not to think about something, regardless of what that thing is, you will not be able to listen to what you were told, as a matter of fact whatever it was that you were instructed not to think about is now at the front of your mind and it is all that you can think about.

That is similar to how it works with insomnia and hypnosis. There are some downloadable hypnosis techniques available online that also teach a person how to relax their mind and their body in a valid attempt to maintain a good nights sleep.

Many choose to actually visit a trained hypnotist while others make self help hypnosis audio tapes that are purchased online work for them. It is a matter of your thought process to and how bad you want hypnosis to work and how much you believe it will work as well.

Humans Did Not Always Eat Meat

Humans Did Not Always Eat Meat

Do you ever think about how far we’ve diverted from the path of our pre-historic ancestors and they’re eating patterns? Consider how the earliest humans evolved, and what they ate. They were hunter-gatherers and did not evolve with the characteristics of carnivores. Humans aren’t made to tear animals apart and eat their flesh. When you look at carnivorous animals, such as wild cats, you can see their teeth are designed to rip and tear, not chew.

Humans evolved from vegetarian creatures. Even our digestive systems are not particularly suited to eating meat. Eating meat is a relatively recent development in human history, most likely born of opportunity and necessity. Perhaps earliest man observed carnivores eating meat, and if they couldn’t find any of the natural foods they were used to eating, such as vegetables, berries, nuts and grains, then they might have assumed that eating meat would at least sustain life.

But initially we emulated the creatures we evolved from, herbivores like apes. Even to a prehistoric mind, apes would have looked similar to man, walking primarily upright, with arms and hands. We naturally would have foraged for our food, eating roots and berries, fruits and nuts. We would have watched the apes peeling bananas, or crushing nuts on stones to get at the meat of the nut.

We would have been living more moment-to-moment, constantly foraging for food. Hunting, after all, requires thought and planning. Eating meat requires preparation and most importantly, fire. Until man discovered fire, he was primarily vegetarian, living in what was the natural order of things. Vegetarian eating is a more natural way of eating, in addition to being healthier. It’s a way that’s in balance with the planet, and doesn’t seek to dominate it and conquer it.

Photographs are a means to capture moments of this world. In reproduction or printing of these photographs, lab calibration is an important factor to be able to get prints of the best integrity.

Have you ever tried to printing or reproducing a photograph you took digitally only to find out that the print out lacks the luster and sharpness as compared to the image you see on your liquid crystal display monitor? In instances like this, you will clearly need the help of a professional through photo lab calibration.

The difference in reproduction output from the image you see on your screen is due to the fact that your monitor and printer are not calibrated to print the image in the best quality. If you calibrate your LCD monitor, it can provide you with a realistic simulation of what you would see on paper once the image has been printed.

There is a simple calibration method wherein you don’t need the help of a professional for photo lab calibration. You simply have to manipulate and adjust your screen’s output through its contrast and brightness settings. If in case this method does not work, you can use a special software that will calibrate your monitor, printer and other devices related to imaging and reproduction so that you can get more or less the same results in all of these devices. The use of this special calibrating software will give you lab calibration quality in your process of reproduction.

A lot of people can get stuck with just calibrating their monitor. This step is not enough though and you must calibrate not only your monitor, but your printer, scanner and even your camera so that you can achieve consistent imaging across all devices. This calibration across all devices is something that a professional photo lab does. This is why professionally reproduced images are able to maintain the clarity and vibrancy of the images you took.

If the idea of calibrating your own monitor and other devices seem like a hassle, you can always just entrust your reproductions in the capable hands of a professional with their lab calibrated tools and processes. Although if you want the ease and control of being able to do your own reproductions and printing, it is quite easy to have your own home set up with lab calibrated tools to be able to get the most out of your captured images.

How to Water a New Lawn

How to Water a New Lawn

If you are looking for new lawn watering tips and you live in a draught region, you have come to the right place. New lawn watering is so important, but if you live in an area where rain is scarce, you will be the one that will have to provide all of the water to your new lawn.

The first thing you have to do in regards to new lawn watering is to find out if there is any water restriction in your town. If there are water restrictions, find out what they are in detail.

The best time to water during a draught is in the morning. This will keep your water from evaporating due to high wind and temperature. Many people who live in a drought region invest in an automatic watering system. This will ensure new lawn watering without having to get out of bed before the roosters.

You should probably avoid using overhead sprinklers during the day. Over half of the water put out by these sprinklers will be lost. A method for new lawn watering during the afternoon that is very productive is soaker hoses. Invest in soaker hoses and run them throughout your yard.

When you do water, try to water less often but water deeply. Water needs to go to a depth of six inches. If you water often but not deep, the bottom soil will not stay moist.

Be mindful of any leaks you may have in your watering system. This is a good practice, especially if you are under water restrictions in your area. Slow leaks can amount up to hundreds or thousands of gallons of lost water every month.

In the chance that you do get rain, have your gutters set up so the water is diverted to your new lawn.

If you are just starting a new lawn and preparing the soil, you should add organic matter that will aid in water retention. You should also probably think about sowing a grass seed that is draught resistant.

Slow down your fertilization routine during the draught times. Fertilizers promote growth which means you will have to water more often.

Instead of using weed killers during the draught times, you may need to manually pull them out of your lawn, or simply cut them off at the surface.

Leave your lawn clipping on the grass. They can add moisture to your lawn.

If you are restricted from watering your lawn, you should simply let it go dormant. It will come back to life when water conditions improve. However, you should not mow grass when it is going dormant and not growing.

Avoid applying pesticides during times of draught, if possible. Pesticides can cause burns and injuries to grass that may require extra new lawn watering.

How to Use more CO2 to Boost Hydroponic Plant Growth

How to Use more CO2 to Boost Hydroponic Plant Growth

Carbon dioxide is needed in a hydroponic garden to guarantee continued plant growth because it is required for photosynthesis. Many gardeners do not realize that the larger their hydroponic garden is, the more their plants need carbon dioxide for respiration.

How can you boost the carbon dioxide content in your hydroponic garden? There are five ways that you can increase the level of carbon dioxide in your greenhouse to increase plant growth. First, the burning hydrocarbon fuels will create carbon dioxide gas. Second, the use of dry ice can aid in the production of this gas. Third, fermentation of organic materials creates carbon dioxide. Fourth, the decomposition of organic matter such as compost will create carbon dioxide. Finally, the use of compressed bottled carbon dioxide is the most commonly used way to create the gas in a greenhouse for the desired effect.

Large greenhouses have burned hydrocarbon fuels for years in an effort to increase growth in their plants. Examples of hydrocarbon fuels are propane, butane, natural gas and alcohol. Fuels that contain sulfur or sulfur compounds cannot be used because they produce harmful by products when they burn.

Dry ice can be used in small greenhouses, especially if a cooling effect is also desired. Dry ice, which is solid carbon dioxide, is effective when used in a well-sealed area. The ice can either be used in block form or broken down into small pieces and used a little at a time. Another method is to put the dry ice into a Styrofoam container with holes in it to slow down the rate of evaporation. Since carbon dioxide is heavier than air it must be placed above the plants in order for it to drift down and surround the plants.

Fermentation is another way to create more carbon dioxide in your hydroponic greenhouse. This method is easy to accomplish with few materials

How to Use Non-Plant Natural Insecticide

How to Use Non-Plant Natural Insecticide

Often, a natural insecticide can be used rather than a man-made chemical solution for unwanted insects. Many of these preparations are made by using plants and plant derivatives. However, there are some non-plant kinds of natural insecticide.

Oils are commonly used as a natural insecticide. Some of the common oils used are mineral oil and different cooking oils. If cooking oil is used, liquid soap is added to the mixture. Either way, the oil is diluted with water and sprayed on the plant as a natural insecticide. The insects and eggs will be suffocated or dehydrated.

It certainly isn’t pleasant to collect animal urine, but you can use it for a natural insecticide. You mix it with soil and let it set for a couple of weeks. Then, you dilute it with water and put it only on mature leaves. Never use this natural insecticide in full sun.

Chalk is an easy type of natural insecticide to use. You should soak it in water. The soaking time varies depending on what grade you use. Construction grade chalk soaks for twelve hours and natural chalk soaks for days. You can only use this preparation on mature leaves.

If you have a source of fresh, unpasteurized cow’s milk, it can be used to make a natural fertilizer. It is combined with flour and water and sprayed on the plant. It kills many insects and their eggs.

Boric acid is, of course, a good all-around natural insecticide. It is used as a powder, or in a solution as a spray. It kills roaches, silverfish, termites, and many other insects. It is not a danger in any way to people working with it.

One way to protect your plants from the ravages of destructive insects is to use lime around the base of the plant. This is a form of natural insecticide. The lime powder not only repels most insects, but it suffocates the ones that try to come through anyway.

You can use a spray made of glue for a natural insecticide. The glue used is just the common household glue kids use in elementary school. You mix it with water and spray it where mites are a problem. The sprayer will become clogged if you don’t wash it, so do that afterwards.

To get rid of ticks in your yard, you can use a CO2 trap. This is a natural insecticide that employs the use of dry ice to trap ticks. A piece of flannel is used under the dry ice for the insects to gather on. This method gets rid of ticks in a seventy-five square foot area of yard.

A natural insecticide called milky spore is used for grubs. It comes in the form of granules. It is said that one treatment lasts for decades. It kills only the grubs. It leaves beneficial insects alive.

There are many types of natural insecticide. Some of the non-plant kinds are often called remedies. However, they work to kill insects and they come directly from nature. It seems that they are indeed natural insecticides.

How to Use Essential Oils for Skin Care

How to Use Essential Oils for Skin Care

People have been using essential oils to nourish and soothe their skin since the time of the ancient Egyptians, at least. For awhile, chemical products were coming on the market every day. People went almost completely away from using essential oils. In recent years, it seems that they’re back.

With the resurgence of the use of essential oils, people are finding ancient answers to common problems. Several different essential oils have been used for simple cleansing. Some of these are sweet basil, lemon, lemongrass, neroli, juniper, and peppermint. Any of these oils can be put in by a few drops in a mild soap. Acne is a distressing skin condition that is related to overproduction of sebum in the skin cells of the face. Essential oils have long been used to help the condition. Geranium, chamomile, tea tree, and lavender oils are among those employed.

These essential oils can be combined with a light carrier oil and applied directly to the skin. However, the extra oil of the carrier may seem to be too much. In this case, the essential oils can be dropped into fragrance-free lotion or cream and rubbed into the affected area. The biggest single factor causing skin to age is the fact that skin loses the ability to hang onto moisture. Thus, it dries out and becomes more fragile. Skin can also age because of exposure to sun or pollutants such as smoking.

Essential oils supply a variety of remedies for aged and wrinkled skin. Frankincense, neroli, or rose oils are excellent oils to use for this purpose. Put them in carrier oils or in fragrance-free lotions to rub on the face. Sandalwood oil, carrot root oil, and many others can be used.

Dandruff can be a bothersome ailment. There are all kinds of chemical remedies in your local stores to treat it. However, there are many essential oils that can help the condition in a more natural way. Cedarwood, geranium, lavender, lemongrass, or rosemary essential oils can be used. There are many other oils and combinations of essential oils that have been used successfully. Any of these can be dropped into hair oil, or added to a water and vinegar mixture to rinse the hair with.

Chamomile and lavender oils are the two best essential oils to use for sunburn. One method is to put a few drops into a cool bath and soak until the heat goes away. The other way to use them is to drop a few drops into a carrier oil and rub gently onto the burnt skin. For severe burns, see your doctor. It seems counterintuitive that essential oils can help to clear oily skin. However, people have been getting good results with these treatments for years upon end. Juniper berry, chamomile, cedarwood, and lavender oils, to name a few, have worked wonders. Add them to water to make a rinse for your face after you wash it.

Skin problems aren’t new to the world. Using essential oils to treat them isn’t new either. However, because these treatments were ignored for so long, they are new to many people now.

How to Use Essential Oils During Pregnancy

How to Use Essential Oils During Pregnancy

Those who have used essential oils before becoming pregnant will probably want to use them during their pregnancy. Some people will want to try them for the first time while expecting. However, it’s important to know how to use essential oils safely during pregnancy.

There are many essential oils and blends of oils that just aren’t safe to use during pregnancy. Some herbs that are used in cooking should be avoided in their essential oils forms during all nine months of pregnancy. These include basil, bay leaves, sage, thyme, and oregano. Others are clove, marjoram, and wintergreen. Some of the essential oils are safe for use after the first trimester. There are remedies for many of the discomforts of pregnancy. For example, women often have morning sickness that lasts beyond the first trimester. If so, they can breathe in oil of peppermint, spearmint, or lemon.

It is easy to end up feeling tense and full of muscle pain when you are pregnant. If this happens, a massage could be just the thing you need. With the essential oils of lavender and chamomile mixed with vegetable oil, your partner can help ease away that tension.

Commonly, women suffer from swollen ankles and feet during pregnancy. If lavender, cypress, and juniper oils are mixed with vegetable oil, they can used for massage oil. This blend of essential oils can cause the swelling to decrease.

Pregnant women also have muscle cramps in their legs at times. For this, massage oil can be made from the essential oils of lavender and chamomile, just as for any muscle pain. However, with this pain and any pain of the feet and legs, it is important to be careful when doing the massage. Activating pressure points in these areas can induce labor.

Carrying around all that extra weight can make a woman feel quite fatigued. She may have given up coffee and caffeinated soft drinks for the health of her baby. To energize herself, she can mix essential oils of lavender, grapefruit, and orange with vegetable oil. This can be inhaled or rubbed on the solar plexus. Skin eruptions are common during pregnancies. They are uncomfortable and distressing to many women. Several different conditions can be helped by putting a mixture of essential oils and vegetable oil on the affected areas.

The essential oils you should use for dry skin are geranium, lavender, and rose. For inflamed skin, use chamomile. For itchy skin, use a combination of chamomile and lavender. These remedies should soothe the skin and make it smoother. There’s just no getting around stretch marks. If you are getting them, though, you might like to have a way to soothe them and keep them from itching. Just put lavender, geranium, and rosewood essential oils in your vegetable oil for massaging.

Do your homework if you are pregnant and wanting to use essential oils to relieve some of the discomforts associated with pregnancy. After the first trimester, there are certain essential oils that are safe to use. If in doubt, consult an expert. It’s important to take the safety of you and your baby into account.

How to Tell If You Have a Sleep Disorder

How to Tell If You Have a Sleep Disorder

There are many people that have an undiagnosed sleep disorder. They may feel very sleepy during the day. They may have trouble falling to sleep or staying asleep. Friends or relatives may tell them they look very tired. They may experience mood changes, irritability or become overly emotional. Often they have difficulty paying attention, concentrating, or remembering things that are important. These are all symptoms of sleep deprivation, and possibly of a sleep disorder.

A person that has an undiagnosed sleep disorder will usually answer the question, “What is the problem with your sleep,” with one of five answers. Those answers will be; “I have trouble falling asleep,” ” I have trouble staying awake,” “I can’t get up in the morning,” “I seem to do strange things in my sleep” or “I can’t sleep because of my partner.” The particular answer chosen helps to narrow down the possibility of a specific type of sleep disorder.

When someone says “I can’t fall asleep” it can mean several things. There could be a problem when first going to bed, after waking up in the middle of the night, or in the early morning hours.

Many people have the problem of not being able to fall asleep when they go to bed. This is called sleep latency. Sleep latency can be a very serious symptom of certain sleep disorders, including sleep onset insomnia, delayed sleep phase disorder, shift work, restless leg syndrome or paradoxical insomnia. Many times the problem is not being able to stay asleep, which is sleep fragmentation. Often a person with this complaint can fall to sleep easily when they go to bed, but wake up often throughout the night. Sleep disorders may include sleep maintenance insomnia, shift work. If a person wakes up very early in the morning and cannot get back to sleep, it could be a sign of advanced sleep phase disorder or sleep maintenance insomnia.

If the answer to the question is “I can’t stay awake” and the person is falling asleep at inappropriate times there may be a sleep disorder such as narcolepsy , obstructive or central sleep apnea, periodic limb movement disorder, restless leg syndrome, shift work or advanced sleep phase disorder.

Those that say “I can’t get up in the morning” and take an hour or more to fully wake from their sleep may suffer from excessive sleep inertia. They are having difficulty making the transition from sleep to being awake. Sleep disorders that could be responsible for excessive sleep inertia are sleep apnea and delayed sleep phase disorder.

A person that answers the question with “I do strange things in my sleep” may find that their sleep is full of surprises. Sleepwalking, Sleep terrors, confusional arousals, REM sleep behavior disorder, nightmares, sleep-related eating disorder and bruxism are all types of sleep disorders known as parasomnias.

If a person answers “I can’t sleep because of my partner” snoring, sleep apnea, bruxism, restless leg syndrome, or periodic limb movement disorder may be the sleep disorder to blame.

How would you answer the question of “What is the problem with your sleep?”

How to Take Care of New Sod Lawns

How to Take Care of New Sod Lawns

You have to take care of new sod lawns. Sod is living and breathing and it can die. You should never schedule a delivery of sod until you are ready to install it. Sod should never be stored for more than a couple of days, or all you will have is a bunch of dirt and dead grass!

When you go to purchase sod, you should make sure it is freshly cut. You should also look for sod that has been grown on soil that is similar to the soil in your yard. When you install your sod, try to avoid stretching it or leaving any gaps between them. This will encourage weeds to grow.

You should know that heat can build up inside a roll of sod. As soon as it has been laid, you should take care of new sod lawns by giving them a good drink of water. Allow the water to penetrate to a depth of six inches.

During the first two weeks, you should take care of new sod lawns as if they are dehydrating. You cannot over water them. You can water your new sod lawn up to five times a day. The key is keeping the sod moist so the roots have time to take root. You should keep people and pets off of your new sod lawn if possible until it has had its first mowing. Most sod lawns can be mowed approximately two weeks after installation. However, if your lawn was installed in the cold months, it may be a while before a mowing is required. Keep in mind that it is better to mow high than to scalp your new lawn.

During the third and fourth weeks, you can start to reduce the frequency of waterings. While you may decrease the frequency of your waterings, you may want to increase how long you water. Sod lawns at this age really like deeper and less frequent waterings because it helps their roots to grow deeper to reach water. This establishes your new lawn into the soil and makes it stronger. If you want to check to see if your lawn is getting firmly rooted, simply tug on the turf. At the four week mark, you should apply an application of fertilizer to your new lawn.

Problem Solvers for New Sod Lawns

If you think that your sod is not taking root fast enough, you should know that sod lawns that are planted in excessive shade will have a slow time at putting down roots than sod lawns which are in full sun. Adjusting your watering schedule can help a lawn that is having problems establishing roots. Doing less frequent but deeper soakings may help.

If your sod is shrinking, that is a sign that it is not receiving enough water. Immediately begin increasing the duration and frequency of the waterings and the gaps should fill in.

Does your sod have bluish-grey spots? If so, these are drought spots. Take care of new sod lawns by increasing the minutes that you are watering. If you are using a sprinkler to water, make sure it is reaching the areas that are spotting.

How to Stop Bad Breath Now

How to Stop Bad Breath Now

The success of bad breath treatment products does not rely on the price tag printed over them. It relies on how well you know about your condition and how faithful you are in doing the right thing to kill it. Stopping bad breath relies on 2 things: first, finding the cause of your condition; and second, treating it the right way

1. Finding the cause of your condition.

Bad breath could only be stopped if you know where to start. And knowing where to start relies on knowing the cause of bad breath.

Bad breath is usually caused by poor oral hygiene. This means that you do not clean your teeth and your mouth the way you should or you are not treating your teeth and mouth the way they should be treated.

Poor oral hygiene can result to the increase of anaerobic bacteria that break down sugar and protein from the food particles left inside your mouth, particularly in between your teeth and at the back of your mouth. This would then result to the production of volatile sulphur compounds (VSCs), which would then be the cause of bad breath. If you do not brush your teeth as you should, if you do not clean your tongue, and if you do not floss, then it is possible that your bad breath is the result of poor oral hygiene.

Oral, nasal or throat condition can cause bad breath even if you are practicing good oral hygiene. Such conditions include canker sores, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis, mononucleosis, tonsillitis, strep throat, nasal discharge, and sinus infection.

Certain diseases can cause bad breath as well. Such disease include kidney failure, lung liver failure, lung infection, gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernia,

Smoking tobacco products, eating certain foods such as onion and garlic, drinking soda and coffee, and using mouthwash with too much alcohol content can cause bad breath as well.

2. Treating it the right way.

Stopping bad breath that is caused by poor oral hygiene is easy. Brush your teeth every meal, use dental floss at least once a day, use oral antiseptic that does not dry your mouth, and have your dentures checked by your dentist. These things will ensure that your teeth stay healthy, clean, and properly maintained to stop bad breath.

If your bad breath is caused by certain oral, nasal or throat condition, then have it cured immediately. Usually, once any of these conditions are treated, the bad breath goes with it.

Kidney failure, lung liver failure, lung infection, gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernia are major diseases that may not come away in days, or worse, would require a series of medical treatments. If you have any of these and you have a bad breath, ask your doctor the right thing to do to stop bad breath.

What you put to your mouth decides the smell of your breath. So if you want to stop bad breath, then avoid particular foods and drinks. Quit smoking, stop drinking coffee and soda, and avoid foods that can cause you that foul smell such as cabbage, onion, and garlic. Switch to tea. Eat fruits and vegetables that contain natural fiber.

Also, you can make your own toothpaste and mouthwash. A mixture of 3 parts baking soda and 1 part salt is an effective alternative for toothpaste. An aloe vera juice mixed with water is an effect mouthwash.

Finally, make sure that you maintain an “anti-bad breath” habit to stop bad breath once and for all.

How to Stay Hydrated in the Heat

How to Stay Hydrated in the Heat

When we are laughing and playing in the sun we don’t think of much else. But, even if you don’t think about anything else, remember that keeping up your fluid intake is important. Learn to stay hydrated during the hot months of the year.

The heat of the sun feels good on your skin. The summer months are a time to get outdoors and breathe the fresh air and have a bit of fun. Some people don’t pay attention to the weather when it is warm. If it were raining or storming, umbrellas would go up and people would drive slower.

In the heat, we should also take care. There are many heat-related deaths each year. And, it’s not only the elderly and children that have to be careful. Anyone can be affected by too much heat and too little fluids.

So, if you need to be outside, remember to keep some form of hydration close at hand.

Five Ways to Stay Hydrated in Warm Weather

1. Drink water before, during and after a workout – When the weather gets warm, you’ll lose even more fluid through sweat during a workout, indoors or out. Drink at least two or three glasses of water before a workout and eight ounces for each 15 minutes that you exercise. Afterwards, recharge those cells with another glass or two of water. It quenches your thirst like no other drink.

2. Eat fresh fruit – Fruit has high water content. It is one way to increase your intake of fluids, especially if you don’t like drinking a lot of water. For a treat, freeze a fruit, like grapes, and then munch on them as a cooler when hanging out outdoors.

3. Avoid drinks that steal water from your body – One thing to avoid is drinking caffeine and alcohol. Both can dehydrate your body. If you want something more than water, try using drink mix sticks or lemon and a sprig of mint.

4. Have a sports drink after heavy prolonged exercise – The body doesn’t just lose water but also electrolytes. Too much heat without replenishment of sodium and potassium can lead to an electrolyte imbalance in the tissues, which is serious. Choose a drink that is low on sugar but high in the electrolytes that you need.

5. Drink throughout the day – Even if you are not participating in organized activity, you are still moving around outdoors so the heat can affect you. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times. It can also help you eat less. Most of the time when we eat, it is not actually hunger but thirst that we suffer from.

Water is important to every living thing and that includes you. During warm weather, stay hydrated.

This can be done through workshops and continuing education courses. You will not be able to keep your license without keeping up on the latest knowledge throughout your physiotherapy career.

Also, you may want to consider a specialty. There are physiotherapy career specialties in geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurological disorders, and sports medicine, to name a few. How to Spot Fake Cuban Cigars

How to Spot Fake Cuban Cigars

Everyone knows that Cuban cigars are the most coveted cigars, renown worldwide for their smoothness and rich flavors. Indeed, Cuban cigars are so prized that many illegitimate dealers have been known to sell fake Cubans to unsuspecting cigar smokers. How do you tell if what you have is a fake or the real thing? First, make certain that you purchase your cigars from a legitimate dealer. Buying from your local tobacconist or a reputable mail order business can protect you from forking your money over for a box of fake cigars.

If you have an opportunity to purchase a box of purported Cuban cigars, but have your doubts, take the time to examine the box before purchasing it. Here are a few tips to help you spot the fakes from the real thing.

The most important thing to examine is the box. Authentic Cuban cigars will contain a green and white warranty seal on the left front side of the box. The seal will contain an insignia that has a picture of a shield and a hat. On the upper right hand corner of the box, you should find a white sticker that is placed diagonally with the word ‘Habanos’ printed on it. The overall appearance of the box should be neat and clean. If the box appears damaged, smudged, frayed, or marked, avoid it. If the color of the box is dull, don’t buy it. Even if the cigars are the real things, their quality may have suffered in transport. If you are in the market for Cohiba, Trinidad, or Q’dorsay brand cigars, know that all authentic Cohiba’s will contain the green and white warranty seal on the right hand side of the box.

On the bottom of the box of cigars, you should find a heat stamp with the words ‘Habanos.’ The heat stamp should be impressed onto the bottom of the box. Fake Cuban cigar boxes often find other ways to imprint this label, such as using rubber stamps or paper labels. You should also find a factory code stamp at the bottom that is stamped in green, blue or black ink. This stamp will tell you when and where the cigars were rolled.

If you can open the box, take the time to smell the tobacco. Cuban cigars will have a deep, rich aroma, unmistakable to dedicated cigar aficionados. If the smell is off, or very weak, chances are you do not have a box of authentic Cuban cigars in your hands. The cigars should be facing the same way, and the top row may appear slightly flattened. The caps on all the cigars should appear identical, and the foot of each cigar should be cut clean. The bands on all the cigars should also be identical, and should be arranged so that they face the same direction. If allowed, test the cigars out by pressing down on them. Feel along the entire length of each cigar, checking for soft or hard spots. The cigars should feel firm yet pliable.
